Pre-Care Instructions

Microneedling

To help you get the best results from your Microneedling treatment, please review and follow the pre-care checklist below.

Prior to your appointment

  • Do not use retinoids, tretinoin, or retinol products within 12 hours of your appointment.
  • Avoid prolonged sun exposure (at least 4 hours) before treatment (microneedling cannot be performed on sunburned skin).
  • Keep the treatment area clean on the day of your procedure (no makeup, lotions, sunscreen, or oils).
  • Discontinue use of exfoliating products (AHAs, BHAs, scrubs) for at least 24 hours prior to your appointment.
  • Avoid alcohol and blood-thinning medications/supplements (aspirin, ibuprofen, fish oil).
  • Notify your provider if you have active acne, cold sores, infections, or open wounds in the treatment area.

What to expect

  • Most clients resume their usual activities within 24 hours, with a healthy pink glow that may last up to 3 days.
  • You may notice mild redness or sensitivity, similar to a light sun-kissed look β€” this typically fades within 24–48 hours.
  • Tiny pinpoint marks or light flaking can appear as your skin renews itself β€” these shed naturally in just a few days.
  • Your skin may feel a little tighter or drier at first, a normal part of the healing process leading to fresh, smooth results.
  • Improvements often become visible within 1–2 weeks, with optimal results building after a series of treatments.
